12:30PM - 1:00PM | How technology supports social and emotion learning as well as enhances digital skills in the inclusive classroom
After the past 2 years of disrupted learning, closing learning gaps and helping students catch up are top of mind for educators. A fundamental part of this that is that emotions are the gatekeepers of learning. While not new in education, stronger social-emotional skills are now taking center stage alongside cognitive skills and content knowledge in the classroom as key priorities.
In this session, we will discuss the importance of student well-being and the built-in capabilities of the Reflect tool in Microsoft Teams – a tool that can help build students’ emotional vocabulary to deepen their empathy, provide teachers with the opportunity to gauge their students’ well-being, and give schools more thorough data to identify and address student needs at scale.
We will also cover key accessibility trends and how technology can support teachers and empower students by providing inclusive, accessible technology for K-12 learning environments.
After all, helping students build confidence and gain self-awareness skills, combined with providing inclusive accessible technology that promotes fairness and collaboration, every student can participate and grow.
1:00PM - 2:00PM | The Cycle of Work – a new methodology for modern learning and work
To help educators adapt and keep ahead of modern classroom trends, ASI Solutions Training team has designed a methodology that outlines the various stages of learning and work – regardless of the size or complexity of the project. The cycle of work breaks projects down to three key stages – ideation, implementation, and optimisation. At each stage, the methodology advises how to leverage modern software to achieve the best outcomes along with the right tools that best enable the learning being conducted.
In this session, Brett Gilbertson, will talk through the stages outlined in the cycle of work and highlight the modern software and tools required to drive better learning outcomes.
2:00PM - 2:30PM | How does Surface meet the needs of modern education
Schools have a responsibility to their teachers and students to provide them with the technology that can help them meet their learning objectives when hybrid learning is the new normal. They also need to provide a secure online environment for teachers and students without hindering their ability to collaborate or create. Microsoft has a vision to empower every student and every educator on the planet to achieve more.
Learn how Surface devices and Microsoft 365 together, enable students and educators to consolidate the number of devices they use, while IT teams can save on the time it takes to provision, deploy, and manage devices.
2:30PM - 2:45PM | Which device for which user?
Devices are not a one-size fits all! This session will help you understand the specific features and benefits of the Surface range and where they are designed to work best in the classroom for both teachers and educators.
